1. Overview
This Return & Refund Policy governs returns, exchanges, and refunds for products and services purchased from McGreen Acres through our website or in person.
Due to the nature of farm-fresh products, handmade goods, live animals, and educational services, all sales are subject to the terms outlined below.
2. Eligibility Period
Eligible non-perishable retail items may be returned or exchanged within seven (7) calendar days of the pickup date.
Requests submitted after this period will not be accepted.
3. Non-Returnable and Limited-Return Items
The following items are final sale and are not eligible for return, exchange, or refund unless expressly stated in this policy:
A. Perishable and Food Products
Including but not limited to:
- Eggs
- Dairy-related products
- Honey
- Cottage law food items
- Refrigerated goods
- Baked goods
- Produce
These items are non-returnable for food safety and regulatory reasons.
B. Herd Share Programs
Herd share participation and related services are governed by a separate herd share agreement and are not subject to this Return Policy.
C. Special Sales Items
- Custom products
- Special-order items
- Gift cards
- Clearance or final sale items
These items are final sale.
D. Live Animals and Livestock
Including but not limited to:
- Chicks
- Poultry
- Turkeys
- Pigs
- Breeding or feeder animals
All livestock sales are generally final.
McGreen Acres does not guarantee the health, growth, productivity, or long-term viability of any animal after transfer.
If an animal is determined, at our sole discretion, to have been ill or injured at the time of sale, we may offer a replacement, refund, or credit as a goodwill gesture.
All determinations are made case-by-case and are final.
E. Classes, Workshops, and Events
Registration fees for classes, workshops, and events are non-refundable.
If notice of cancellation is provided at least forty-eight (48) hours before the scheduled start time, a credit toward a future class may be issued at our discretion.
No-shows and late cancellations forfeit all fees.
4. Condition of Approved Returns
Approved non-perishable returns must be:
- Unused
- Unopened (when applicable)
- In original condition
- Free from damage or contamination
Items failing inspection will be refused.
5. Return Authorization Process
All returns require prior approval.
To request authorization, contact:

- Order number
- Product description
- Date of pickup
- Reason for request
Unauthorized returns will not be accepted.
6. Return Method
All approved returns must be completed in person.
Mail-in returns are not accepted.
7. Refunds and Credits
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method, less any applicable fees, including:
- Transaction fees
- Restocking fees
- Processing fees
If the original payment method is unavailable, store credit may be issued.
8. Missed Pickup and Abandoned Orders
Orders not claimed in accordance with our Terms and Communications Policy may be canceled.
Perishable items may be discarded without refund.
Non-perishable items may be refunded minus applicable fees.
9. Exchanges
Exchanges are subject to availability and eligibility.
Price differences may apply.
10. Incorrect or Defective Items (Non-Perishable Only)
If you receive an incorrect or defective non-perishable item, notify us within forty-eight (48) hours of pickup.
Verified claims may result in replacement, refund, or credit.
11. Good Faith Resolution
McGreen Acres is committed to fair and reasonable customer service.
In exceptional circumstances, management may offer accommodations outside this policy as a goodwill gesture.
Such accommodations do not establish precedent.
12. Abuse Prevention and Discretion
We reserve the right to:
- Limit or deny returns
- Refuse service
- Deny suspicious claims
- Restrict accounts engaged in abuse
All decisions are final.
13. Policy Modifications
This policy may be updated at any time.
Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance.
