TWA Flock
June 25, 2025

Our chickens roam, scratch, and snack their way around the pasture, and the eggs they lay are as colorful and full of life as they are.

The flock is a fun mix of heritage breeds like Wyandottes, Turkens, and Americanas. Each one brings something different to the egg basket, whether it’s the deep brown shells from the Wyandottes, the quirky charm of our Turkens, or the soft blue eggs from our Americanas. Together, they make up a flock that’s as diverse and down-to-earth as the farm itself.

We call them heritage eggs because they come from traditional, hardy breeds that haven’t been bred for industrial production. These birds live the good life, free to graze across the property, snack on bugs, scratch in the dirt, and soak up the sun. We back that up with a high-quality feed that’s Organic, Non-GMO, Corn-free, and Soy-free. No weird stuff, just clean nutrition and fresh air.

The eggs? They're a rainbow of earth tones, mostly brown and blue, with rich yolks and sturdy shells. We collect them fresh, give them a gentle cleaning, and package them in recycled paper pulp cartons, because good eggs should be good for the planet, too.

If you’re looking for eggs that taste like eggs should taste, you’ll want to try these. Swing by the farm or check the store to grab a dozen. Your breakfast won’t be the same.

Allan is the keeper of the flocks and the builder behind the scenes. He tends every chicken, turkey, goose, and pig on the farm and never hesitates to get his hands dirty when something needs fixing or building. From pig shelters and bunk beds to electrical lines, water systems, and even the trucks that keep us moving, he makes sure everything works the way it should. As the head of technology at McGreen Acres, he also dreams up tools like WiFi water gauges and smart camera systems that make life on the farm run smarter. His mix of grit, ingenuity, and care is a driving force in how our farm grows and improves.
